Got Moss?

Got Moss?

It’s natural for moss to grow on your roof but it’s not a good thing. Moss will grow in areas of your roof that don’t get a lot of sunlight (think North side of the roof or areas shaded by trees). Accumulations of moss will hold onto moisture preventing your shingles from properly drying out and can also start to lift your shingles allowing for moisture intrusion.

You know what’s worse than having moss on your roof? Using a pressure washer to remove it! You can seriously damage your shingles by using a pressure washer. Instead, a combination of a light brush, a low pressure garden hose, and some chemicals (even some eco-friendly options) is recommened to remove the moss.
